Responsibilities

Eastman has an opening at our Springfield, MA location for a Team Manager for our logistics department. The Logistics Team Manager is responsible for leading a team of operations staff while ensuring the safe and environmentally-responsible operation of the logistics department.

Responsibitlies include:

  • Ensure daily safe work practices with Eastman's Zero Incident Mindset using a One Team mentality
  • Coordinate and monitor all aspects of the warehouse activities on site, including execution of inbound and outbound shipments, internal plant material handling, and other critical services to meet the needs of the on-site operations
  • Organize work activities and monitor progress to ensure that it is being performed in a timely manner and following department guidelines
  • Utilize effective leadership skills to build a highly motivated and cohesive team. Improve productivity and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Ensure the proper receipts and issuance (GI/GR) of materials used by the warehouse or the operating department it supports to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Assist in maintaining inventory documentation and verify that the accuracy of data input into SAP is correct.
  • Support critical activities to manage rework to maximize yields and minimize rework inventory. Communicate with the quality team and ensure the appropriate steps are taken to manage non-conforming product.
  • Ensure work practices comply with ISO/IATF standards and customer requirements. Support customer feedback case investigation as needed.
  • Maintain strong working relationship with Union Leadership and maximize operational opportunities with regards to the collective bargaining agreement(s)
  • Provide training and development to Logistics staff
  • Provide off-hours support as needed


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of Manufacturing, Warehouse/Logistics, or related experience required
  • Supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized manufacturing environment, highly preferred
  • Experience with SAP/ERP and familiarity with warehouse operations preferred
  • Highly effective communication, team building, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with team members at all levels, including good written communication skills.
  • High degree of initiative and ability to plan, prioritize, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent technical skills and effective analytical and troubleshooting/ problem-solving skills. Must possess the ability to make timely and effective decisions
  • Demonstrate results-orientation through focus on achieving the strategic targets of the business.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, SAP)

The base salary range for this position is $93,000 to $123,000.
