Job description

The Logistics Supervisor's primary duty is the management and supervision of the Logistics department, including planning, directing, and overseeing daily logistics and warehouse operations to ensure efficient material flow, inventory accuracy,
operational compliance, and support of production and internal customer requirements. This position serves as the primary leader for the Logistics team and is accountable for supervising personnel, managing workflow priorities, coordinating departmental resources, and driving operational performance improvements.

The Logistics Supervisor exercises independent judgment in operational decision-making, staffing coordination, workflow prioritization, and implementation of logistics procedures to support organizational objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide direct supervision of four or more (4+) full-time Shipping/Receiving Associates including scheduling, training, coaching, performance feedback, and recommendation of corrective actions when appropriate.
• Provide recommendations regarding hiring, promotion, disciplinary action, termination, and other employment status changes.
• Direct and supervise daily logistics, warehouse, inventory, and material handling operations.
• Lead, assign, and monitor the work activities and performance of Logistics team members.
• Independently prioritize departmental workloads and allocate resources to meet operational and production demands.
• Conduct and lead daily operational meetings to communicate goals, staffing assignments, production support requirements, and departmental priorities.
• Monitor departmental productivity, inventory accuracy, workflow efficiency, and service levels to ensure operational objectives are achieved.
• Analyze and report Logistics KPI metrics and implement corrective actions or process improvements as needed.
• Develop, implement, maintain, and enforce logistics procedures, operational standards, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure compliance with company policies, inventory control standards, safety requirements, and warehouse organizational practices including 5S initiatives.
• Coordinate cycle counts, inventory audits, Kanban replenishment activities, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
• Oversee material movement processes including shipping, receiving, storage, picking, and internal distribution operations.
• Coordinate resolution of inventory discrepancies, non-conforming materials, and vendor return processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements related to warehouse organization, space utilization, labor efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Production, Quality, and other departments to support organizational goals and resolve operational issues.
