Logistics Supervisor
Musselwhite Mine
Purpose:
Reporting to the Logistics Coordinator the Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the overall management of people, safety, and logistics support associated with the Mine Department. This position will ensure that departmental performance is executed in a safe and efficient manner.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage the underground Service, Hoist & Crushing crew and all related work areas.
- Assist in hiring and training new mine employees.
- Provide employees with clear work objectives and expectations of the production levels required.
- Ensure mine crews have the training, tools, and equipment in place to perform the work safely and efficiently.
- Monitor performance, conduct job observations and provide coaching to employees.
- Complete all time entry, vacation request and scheduling.
- To provide front-line direction to the mine crew.
- Communicate production goals, schedules and priorities to the mine crew.
- Coordinate stopping, drilling, blasting, quarrying and load activities.
- Arrange for relief equipment when there is equipment failure.
- Ensure that contract support for the mine crew is available.
- Plan, organize and direct all work tasks of the contract and hourly employees.
- Ensure development targets are met.
- Daily pre-start safety meetings.
- Apply all standard operating procedures (SOP's) and standard task procedures (STP's) within development department.
- Complete safety training and certification as required by site and departmental procedure.
- Increase efficiency and personal productivity.
- Strong decision making.
- Enhancing skills on the underground operations.
- Perform daily central blast initiation and mine gas clearances.
- Perform other related functions as assigned by coordinator.
- Meet and establish performance expectations set by management.
- Treat all colleagues, business partners and other stakeholders with respect.

- Participate in capability training per departmental procedure.
- Perform employee performance assessments per company and site requirements.
- Liaise with Human Resources department to support employee engagement and wellbeing.

Education and Experience:
- Technical diploma in a related field ( three-year program).
- Familiarity with Mining operations.
- Minimum of five years of related experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience in supervisory or lead hand role.
- Demonstrate good work ethic.
- Strong working knowledge of mining methods.
- Good understanding and working knowledge of the applicable legislation and regulations for mines and mining plants.
- Knowledge of mine rescue techniques, WHIMS requirements, and loss control principles.
- Proficient communication skills.
- Strong computer skills.
Working Conditions:
- The work schedule for this position is 14 on,14 days off including travel to site, working 12-hour days and nights.
Compensation:
- The salary for this position is $150,000 to $170,000 per year, depending on skills, experience.
- This role is eligible to participate in the Company's annual short term incentive The target annual bonus for this position is 15% of base salary, subject to individual and company performance.
- The Company offers a Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP), including an automatic 5% employer contribution, with the option for employees to receive up to an additional 4% employer match on employee.
