Description

Position Overview

The Logistics Specialist supports the Joint Distribution Process Analysis Center (JDPAC) V contract by providing logistics planning, analysis, and operational support to U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) and associated Department of Defense stakeholders at Scott Air Force Base. The incumbent will contribute to the planning, coordination, assessment, and improvement of global distribution and transportation processes that enable the rapid and efficient movement of personnel, equipment, and sustainment resources across the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE).

This position requires a highly organized logistics professional with experience in military transportation, supply chain management, deployment and distribution operations, data analysis, and process improvement. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with military, civilian, and contractor personnel to enhance operational readiness and support strategic mobility objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support logistics planning and execution activities related to global deployment and distribution operations.
  • Analyze transportation, supply chain, and distribution data to identify trends, risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist in developing recommendations to improve logistics performance, readiness, and operational effectiveness across the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise.
  • Conduct research, data collection, and analysis to support studies, assessments, and operational initiatives.
  • Prepare reports, briefings, dashboards, and presentation materials for senior government and military leadership.
  • Coordinate with USTRANSCOM, Combatant Commands, Military Services, Defense Agencies, and other stakeholders to support logistics initiatives.
  • Participate in logistics exercises, planning events, conferences, and working groups.
  • Monitor logistics performance metrics and assist in evaluating key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support business process improvement efforts utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Maintain awareness of Department of Defense transportation regulations, policies, and directives.
  • Ensure compliance with security requirements and handling of sensitive information.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Transportation, Operations Research, Military Studies, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience supporting Department of Defense logistics, transportation, deployment, distribution, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience with military logistics systems, transportation management, or distribution planning processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience preparing executive-level reports, briefings, and analytical products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced government contracting environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting USTRANSCOM, JDPAC, AMC, SDDC, DLA, or related organizations.
  • Knowledge of Joint Logistics, Joint Deployment and Distribution Operations, and Global Force Management processes.
  • Experience with logistics data analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar platforms.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Professional Logistician (CPL), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Prior military service or experience supporting military transportation and deployment operations.
