Overview

This Logistics Planner will plan, coordinate, and evaluate logistics programs to support Major Command (MACOM) operations in Colorado.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Performs logistics management functions that involve planning, coordinating, and evaluating logistical actions required to support specified missions or programs.
• Formulates logistical plans, operations, and procedures.
• Attends high-level meetings.
• Investigates, coordinates, and recommends resolutions of MACOM logistics problems and deficiencies.
• Develops logistics plans and supports operations in support of MACOM projects.
• Ensures execution of plans and operations with responsibility for integration of emphasis in the areas of supply, transportation, ILS, and maintenance programs.
• Determines the effect or orders of higher echelons on the logistics support plans or operations, and takes positive action to minimize adverse impact.
• Advises supervisor of formulation of plans to implement MACOM logistics requirements.
• The work involves projects that require analysis of interrelated issues concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of logistical programs.
• The work involves planning, directing, coordinating, and managing MACOM efforts for logistics support.
• The work involves investigating and analyzing a variety of difficult logistics problems, or conditions associated with issues or problems about logistics operations.
• The results of the work provide solutions to logistics problems at various echelons and locations.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Educational Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree
• 8+ Years demonstrated/practical experience.
• In-depth knowledge of MACOM logistical organizations, capabilities, mission analysis and the range of current MACOM-level operational plans.
• Knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts of logistical contingency planning.
• Knowledge is applied in the research, development, and exercise of logistical contingency plans.
• Knowledge of mission and programs of the MACOM to develop logistical portion of plans and exercises and to provide advice on logistical matters.
• Knowledge of and ability to conduct studies to assess and analyze the nature and status of issues or problems within the areas of supply and services and maintenance.
• Skills in both oral and written communication.
• Oral communicative skills must be sufficient to brief the G-4, Command Group or other high-level organizations and individuals.
• Must be a US citizen.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
• Ability to work outside normal work hours at short notice as dictated by workload.
• Ability to work away from primary work location in excess of normal workday.
• Ability to travel outside the US.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills;
• Valid Driver License.

Preferred Qualifications
• Obtaining a Top Secret Clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• Prior experience supporting Army sustainment operations, including supply, maintenance, transportation, or distribution management.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including, but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. May include lifting weight up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.
