POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION: DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTSJob Summary: The Logistics Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of all material movement, equipment deployment, and supply chain activities for a large-scale construction site. This role oversees site coordination, material handling, and inventory control. The Logistics Manager ensures that materials and equipment are delivered safely, efficiently, and in strict compliance with project timelines to prevent site congestion and production delays.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Manage the receiving, staging, distribution, and storage of all bulk construction materials, heavy equipment, and specialized structures on-site.
- Oversee the organization and optimization of laydown yards, ensuring clear labeling, space optimization, and structural safety.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external freight providers, heavy-haul companies, and delivery subcontractors.
- Inspect incoming shipments for quality and quantity deviations against purchase orders, resolving shortages or damages immediately.
- Ensure Project Manager and Superintendent are notified of incoming deliveries, delays, or any issues with supply chains.
- Generate, verify, and formally submit Purchase Orders (POs) for site requirements.
Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:- Minimum of 5 years of dedicated logistics or material management experience specifically on large-scale commercial, industrial, or civil construction sites, or projects of equal complexity.
- Prior experience executing and adhering to strict government agency contracts or specialized federal oversight.
- Must be capable of reading, writing, and conversing fluently in the English language
Preferred Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
- Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification
Work Environment:Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
Physical Requirements:Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach. Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
