Overview

Brandes Associates, Inc., a defense contractor with over 35 years of continuous performance, seeks a Senior Logistician/Logistics Engineer with 10+ years of experience to support the hardware, spares, technical documentation, and depot level services for a program of record at Point Mugu, CA. Salary

The typical annual salary range for this position is $95,000.00 USD to $102,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.

Responsibilities

  • Lead logistics and supply chain management for high-value, mission-critical defense programs including the execution and oversight of material support, supplier coordination, and logistics process improvement
  • Manage lifecycle logistics, incorporating acquisition-driven strategies, supplier risk mitigation, and readiness planning to enhance operational availability
  • Coordinate and interface with engineering, maintenance, supply, and program management teams to resolve sustainment risks and align sustainment outcomes to mission execution
  • Oversee procurement activities, vendor performance, and supply chain operations, ensuring compliance with DoD regulations (including FAR/DFARS) and best practices
  • Develop, document, and validate technical procedures, maintenance documentation, and logistics training materials to support end users and maintainers
  • Deliver executive reports, briefs, and performance metrics to senior leadership, with responsibility for high-stakes decision support and strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Execute and optimize inventory audits, repairable asset management, spares provisioning, and transportation strategies, achieving audit compliance and cost control objectives
  • Participate in and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies


Qualifications

  • Cleared at the DoD Secret level
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain management, or related DoD/acquisition logistics functions, with demonstrated leadership in high-risk, operationally critical environments
  • Proven success managing large-value defense material inventories, orchestrating cross-functional logistics teams, and achieving superior audit/inspection outcomes
  • Comprehensive supply chain risk management, inventory/accountability governance, and end-to-end lifecycle logistics strategies
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, executive reporting, and the development and validation of technical logistics documentation
  • Experience with vendor management, procurement collaboration, contract lifecycle support, and readiness optimization
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-visibility Department of Defense environments with full compliance to U.S. Navy and NAVSUP processes and procedures
  • Strong communication skills-verbal, written, and formal briefings-to executive audiences and technical teams

Desired Additional Experience/Qualifications
  • Professional Certifications (Preferred/Increasingly Common)
  • Relevant certifications (often required or highly desirable in government/defense environments)
  • Demonstrated history of high-value inventory management with zero-loss outcomes
  • Experience leading logistics interface between engineering, sustainment, and operational commands
  • Lean/CI and audit governance accomplishments, including process improvement for repair turnaround times, spares provisioning, and lifecycle support
  • Expertise in development of logistics training courses, technical documentation, and SOPs for DoD systems

EDUCATION

DEGREE: BS or BA degree in a Supply Chain or Logistics Management, or a relevant technical discipline.

ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: An additional 6 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

SECURITY CLEARANCE - SECRET

Condition of Employment: Applicant must hold an active DoD SECRET clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
