Description

About the role:

Are you ready to launch your career in SoC logic design and microarchitecture? At Ampere, we're looking for a motivated SoC Logic Design Engineer with a master's degree who is eager to apply their academic knowledge and internship experience to real-world CPU design challenges.

At Ampere, we build SoCs that power the future of AI computing. Our team offers plenty of opportunities to learn, grow, and innovate. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and mentors who are excited to help you develop your skills in a collaborative, fun, and fast-paced environment. We value creativity, independence, and teamwork-and yes, we also enjoy lunchtime runs, gaming, bouldering, and even debating the best way to cut a doughnut!

What you'll achieve:
  • Assist in developing and exploring SoC micro-architectural features across a range of IP/subsystems, with an emphasis on power optimization (static/dynamic) while meeting performance, area, and frequency targets
  • Collaborate closely with architecture, verification, silicon engineering, and performance teams throughout the design process to drive measurable convergence
  • Learn and contribute to RTL implementation and SoC integration, including practical ownership of design readiness for downstream flows
  • Support and/or build automation for RTL integration tooling, leveraging software development skills (e.g., scripting, robust build/integration utilities, regression support)
  • Collaborate with architecture team to define and document the microarchitecture and implement RTL for SoC blocks
  • Integrate third party IPs into the SoC subsystems
  • Collaborate with the design verification team for functional verification of the design blocks
  • Collaborate with the silicon engineering team for timing closure and other convergence activities of the design blocks

About you:

  • Relevant internships or academic projects involving digital logic design, microarchitecture, or SoC development
  • Familiarity with hardware description languages such as System Verilog or VHDL and RTL design principles
  • Understanding of high-speed bus architectures (e.g., AMBA, CHI) is a plus but not required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Enthusiasm for learning and growing your technical expertise
  • Object oriented programming skills are a plus
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field

What we'll offer:

At Ampere we believe in taking care of our employees and providing a competitive total rewards package that includes base pay, cash long-term incentive, and comprehensive benefits. The full base pay range for this role is between $118,500 and $177,500.

Our benefits include health, wellness, and financial programs that support employees through every stage of life.

Benefit highlights include:
• Premium medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, as well as income protection and a 401K retirement plan, so that you can feel secure in your health and financial future.
• Unlimited Flextime and 10+ paid holidays so that you can embrace a healthy work-life balance.
• A variety of healthy snacks, energizing espresso, and refreshing drinks to keep you fueled and focused throughout the day.

And there is much more than compensation and benefits. At Ampere, we foster an inclusive culture that empowers our employees to do more and grow more. We are excited to share more about our career opportunities with you through the interview process.
