Opportunity for Locum Hospitalists at Sechelt Hospital.

Sechelt Hospital is seeking full-time and/or part-time Locum Hospitalists to provide 24-hour MRP medical services to acute care medical patients, with an opportunity to join the group as a permanent member. The focus of this role includes the admission of new, unassigned, and unattached patients through the Emergency Department (ED); comprehensive patient rounding and stabilization at the end of the day; and responding to urgent, non-code calls for patients admitted to the site. Successful applicants will join a new group of Hospitalists and participate in an on-call rotation, which is approximately 1-2 for on call with 5-7 day work weeks. Candidates should have a strong interest in integrating and developing their acute care hospitalist practice within the Sechelt Hospital team.

Remuneration for your activities within the inpatient care services will be through the Longitudinal Family Physician (LFP) payment model.

Sechelt Hospital is a 63-bed acute care facility located on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. Serving over 33,000 year-round residents, the region has the second-largest proportion of seniors in BC. Sechelt Hospital provides a comprehensive range of health-care services to the community, ensuring access to quality care close to home.

Key services include 24/7 emergency care, a renal program with community dialysis units, and a variety of Mental Health and Substance Use Services. The hospital also offers regional laboratory medicine and a full suite of imaging services, including CT scans, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, mammography, and general radiology (X-ray). Patients benefit from on-site rehabilitation services such as physiotherapy, as well as surgical services and birthing support for low-risk pregnancies. Additionally, Sechelt Hospital delivers chemotherapy for cancer patients and offers outpatient medical day care services, providing a wide scope of care in a welcoming, community-focused setting.
