Location Operations Manager - Waterman

REPORTS TO: Territory Business Manager (dotted line: Agronomy Operations Manager)

STATUS: Exempt

SALARY RANGE: $75,000 - $100,000 / Year

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Provides management, supervision, and leadership of day-to-day agronomy operations for the assigned location. Responsible for personnel leadership, scheduling, logistics, product handling, application services, inventory control, facility maintenance, customer service execution, safety, and regulatory compliance.

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP

Provides direct supervision for applicators, operators, drivers, operations specialists, seasonal employees, and assigned support personnel. Responsible for training, coaching, performance evaluations, staffing recommendations, scheduling, and development of a high-performing operations team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Executes daily operational plans and customer service priorities in coordination with Territory Business Manager.

Responsible for plant operations including dry fertilizer blending and loading, the handling of anhydrous ammonia, and the mixing and handling of ag chemicals and liquid fertilizer.

Maintains inventory accuracy and accountability.

Ensures equipment, rolling stock, and facilities are maintained and operational.

Leads location safety programs and regulatory compliance activities.

Monitors labor utilization, overtime, and operational costs.

Coordinates closely with Crop Specialists and the Territory Business Manager to ensure timely and efficient customer service.

Hires, supervises, leads, and develops both full-time and part-time assigned employees required to operate the facility.

Trains the employees to meet state, federal, and company regulatory safety criteria.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Supports and contributes to total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts.

Responsible for maintaining the assigned vehicle according to company standards, adhering to the uniform policy, and maintaining the appropriate professional image.

Ensures that direct reports are reviewed and given input on job performance according to Conserv FS's policy.

Performs all other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires an associate's degree in agricultural or business discipline, or the equivalent thereof, and 3 years or more of supervisory related work experience to demonstrate knowledge to effectively manage the assigned facilities and personnel.

Understanding and experience with competitive adeptness, inventory management, customer credit worthiness, product knowledge and proficiency, including fertilizers, ag chemicals, seed, soil needs, and field monitoring.

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and be able to travel independently.

Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable certifications, licenses, and permits.

Ability to work extended hours and on call as business conditions warrant.

Occasionally exposed or required to:

  • Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, snow, ice, etc.)
  • Noisy conditions
  • Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures
  • May be required to work at varying heights
  • Lift 51 - 70 lbs.

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on Conserv FS's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
