Position Overview

As a Location General Manager Trainee, you will embark on a leadership development journey designed to prepare you for ultimate responsibility over one or more CarMax store locations. This role is critical to driving operational excellence, associate engagement, and customer satisfaction while ensuring alignment with CarMax's culture and strategic goals. You will lead senior management teams, shape store strategy, and create an environment where associates and customers thrive. Role Responsibilities

  • Lead total store operations, focusing on associate development, profitability, and customer satisfaction while managing budgets and sales processes.
  • Analyze business trends and reports to identify opportunities and champion process improvements and company initiatives that enhance customer and associate experiences
  • Manage financial performance through effective P&L oversight, cost control, and attentive protection of company assets.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and promote associates, fostering a culture of growth and engagement.
  • Drive associate development and engagement through feedback, performance reviews, and career planning.
  • Collaborate with senior management to set store strategy and provide vision, direction, and motivation for success.
  • Responsible for CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements for your department and/or location, including workplace safety.


Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
