Overview

The Loan Syndications Associate will provide analytical and execution support to deliver customized debt solutions to East West Bank's Commercial Bank clients. This role is a key member of the deal team, working closely with senior deal team leaders and experienced transactors, as well as colleagues across the bank, to originate and execute transactions as Agent or Joint Lead Arranger Responsibilities:

Responsibilities
• Support deal origination by drafting pitch materials that incorporate analysis of capital structure, credit profile, publicly available data on companies and transactions, and industry research.
• Prepare market comparables, initial due diligence lists, deal pre-screen presentations, and draft indicative term sheets.
• Track and summarize loan market conditions for inclusion in client materials, with a focus on the middle-market segment of the U.S. loan market.
• Execute lead-arranged transactions by preparing organization books, drafting marketing materials (Confidential Information Memorandums, lender presentations, and pre-screen memorandums), organizing and managing bank meetings, tracking lender interactions and diligence, and supporting the closing process.
• Support the review of financing documentation, including commitment letters, fee letters, engagement letters, and credit agreements.
• Coordinate with internal partners across East West Bank-including East West Markets (broker-dealer), Coverage, Underwriting, Risk, Operations, and other product groups-to meet pitch and transaction deliverables and deadlines.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, lenders, legal counsel, and other external parties, in partnership with senior deal team leaders and experienced transactors.
• Demonstrate sound business and credit judgment and provide balanced assessments when partnering with internal stakeholders.
• Maintain strong attention to detail, deliver high-quality work, and complete assignments within established timelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• 2-5 years of banking experience; loan syndication, asset-based finance, investment banking, or capital markets experience preferred.
• Completion of a formal credit training program preferred.
• Fundamental credit skills, including the ability to evaluate business, industry, financial performance, and structure/terms.
• Strong financial and analytical skills, including proficiency in financial modeling and the ability to quickly synthesize complex information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel.
• High level of initiative, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to build strong internal partnerships.
• Strong organizational, communication, writing, and presentation skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required FINRA registrations and licenses.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $71,000.00/Yr. - USD $110,000.00/Yr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
