Full Job Description

We're seeking someone to join our team as a Vice President in Wealth Management Operations to lead a large, on-site loan processing organization where you'll drive modernization, partner directly with the Business, and own end-to-end execution while transforming how mortgage operations deliver for clients.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is a Team Manager position at Vice President level within the Product Support & Services, which is responsible for providing transaction support and managing post execution processes.

This role provides on-site leadership for loan processing operations, overseeing a team of approximately 20+ mortgage loan processors with a clear mandate to drive modernization and continuous improvement-not simply maintain traditional mortgage practices. The leader partners closely with Business stakeholders to consistently exceed client expectations.

The individual is accountable for end-to-end execution across the loan processing lifecycle, from intake through document collection, condition clearing, and pipeline management. The role emphasizes efficient workflows, strong service-level performance, and consistent adherence to established procedures, while actively challenging legacy ways of working.

Responsibilities include coaching and performance management, coverage planning, and oversight of Order Services (OS) and Conditions Support Tasks (CST), while serving as a primary escalation point. In partnership with internal stakeholders, the role supports resolution of complex files, Quality Control issues, and risk and compliance expectations, while reinforcing a strong, accountable site culture.

What you'll do in the role:
- Develop staff, lead projects and control deployment of resources, owning management tools/methods such as work queues, checklists, depth charts and calendars
- Set direction and expectations for your team(s), defining training plans and transfer of expert knowledge to contribute to team output and development
- Contribute to business plan for area, establish risk/contingency plans, raise and address issues with urgency when required
- Build and manage relationships with business unit partners, other Morgan Stanley infrastructure departments, and external contact points in Client or Market organizations
- Lead and develop a team of 20+ loan processors to meet service-level and BAU commitments
- Act as on-site leader for daily execution, and team engagement
- Act as an escalation point for Loan Processors, Senior Mortgage Specialists, and partners
- Address Quality Control findings and provide appropriate training for staff where necessary
- Balance loan pipeline among processors
- Require staff to follow in-office policy and scheduled hours
- Provide support for complex and rush files

What you'll bring to the role:
- Strong relationship building skills serving as a role model for client service
- Ability to think commercially, understand the impact of initiatives, risks on the operational budget
- Experience in managing teams, enhancing control, continuous improvement and reducing operational risk
- Culture carrier and role model, representing and leading the Firm's core values to influence and motivate those around you
- Strong understanding of mortgage loan processing workflows, systems, and controls
- Working knowledge of underwriting, compliance policies, and procedures
- Ability to identify risk and drive continuous improvement
- Experience in improving processes and adopting/testing tools
- Skilled in queue management, pipeline balancing, and coverage planning
- Hands-on, accountable leader with a strong work ethic
- Comfortable escalating issues and influencing senior stakeholders
- Experience planning staffing to meet BAU commitments
- Strong partner management across Operations, business, and external contacts

What experience you need:
- 10+ years of mortgage/loan processing experience, including active pipeline management
- Strong end-to-end mortgage process knowledge (including Jumbo/Non-Conventional)
- Strong organization and independent problem-solving skills
- Clear, concise communication
- Flexibility to support multiple regions/time zones
