Job DescriptionOur team is expanding, and our National Claims team is actively seeking to hire a Litigation Specialist, Casualty Claims Bodily Injury, for our National Bodily Injury team. Reporting to the Manager Casualty Claims Litigation, in this role, you will be responsible for the full handling of litigation claims with an emphasis on timely and fair resolution.
Role Designation: Remote
Accountabilities: - Investigate and settle litigation files of various complexity.
- Direct and guides activities of defense counsel, to bring cases to optimum & timely resolution.
- Interprets complex insurance wordings/case law, determines policy coverages, and establishes reserves.
- Review and assess reports from defense counsel, approve settlements and process payments within established authorization limits or approval of management.
- Attend private mediations, settlement meetings, hearings, etc. as required.
- Provide input into the development of tactics relating to regional cost containment strategies.
- Identify & understand emerging trends and problems with consideration given to multiple variables, i.e., legislation, interpretations, impacts severity initiatives to improve results.
- Mentor and coach junior claim staff as required.
Qualifications: - Minimum 3 years of strong insurance background handling litigation claims in a Bodily Injury claims environment.
- Strategic negotiation skills drive early resolution without unnecessary delay.
- Ability to assess situations and exposure quickly, manage stakeholders effectively, and guide others towards mutually beneficial settlements and agreements.
- Enrolled in, or completion of, CIP designation is an asset
- Excellent communication skills.

CompensationExpected compensation for this role ranges from $ 71,400.00 - 113,925.00 annually. Actual salary offered to successful candidates will vary based on their skills and experience.
