Full Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE

Parker Poe is seeking a litigation associate with 2-4 years of experience to join our Eminent Domain & Condemnation team in our Raleigh or Charlotte office. The role focuses on representing utilities, government, businesses, and property owners in eminent domain, land use, and other real property disputes throughout North Carolina. This is a litigation position, and the successful candidate will collaborate directly with the partners and clients who drive one of the region's most active condemnation practices.

The associate will handle a high volume of active matters, take a meaningful role in trial and hearing work early, and collaborate with attorneys across the firm's real estate and litigation practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Represent clients in all phases of litigation.
• Participate in jury trials and evidentiary hearings.
• Conduct discovery, take depositions, and manage expert witnesses.
• Draft and argue motions.
• Engage in negotiations and mediations.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Licensed to practice in North Carolina
• Two to four years of experience in litigation; eminent domain, condemnation, real property, land use, or zoning experience is a plus.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills, as well as strong research abilities.
• Ability to manage a high-volume, litigation-focused practice in a team environment.

ABOUT THE PRACTICE

Parker Poe's Eminent Domain & Condemnation team represents utilities, government, businesses, and property owners in condemnation actions, land use litigation, and real property disputes across the Southeast. The team works closely with the firm's development, real estate, environmental, and economic development attorneys, so associates gain exposure to the full life cycle of a property dispute rather than a narrow slice of it.

HOW TO APPLY

Interested candidates should apply through the Parker Poe careers page or submit a resume to the Attorney Recruitment team. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
