Full Job Description
North Point Technology is looking to hire a Linux Systems Engineer to support a mission-critical enterprise identity and access management environment. This role requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the willingness and ability to obtain a CI Polygraph within the customer's timeline. The ideal candidate will combine strong Linux systems expertise with cloud and networking knowledge to sustain and improve a complex, multi-environment operational platform serving external organizations.

Responsibilities:

The Linux Systems Engineer will provide Tier II support in resolving customer-facing issues, perform root cause analysis and mitigation for operational problems, and communicate findings to development teams to establish effective feedback loops. The engineer will act as a subject matter expert reviewing user metrics, system health, and overall performance, implementing proactive measures to ensure operational availability. Responsibilities include developing scripts to automate operational tasks, leveraging playbook-based automation, and managing both COTS and GOTS software products across multiple environments. The engineer will coordinate with Enterprise Services teams to maintain compliance with security requirements and interface with customers and external technical teams to diagnose and resolve access issues.

Required Skills/Experience:
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) including S3, EC2, and Reserved Instances
  • Troubleshooting network-related issues at OSI model layers 4-7
  • Systems engineering documentation including network diagrams and data flow diagrams
  • Agile team collaboration tools including Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket
  • Linux system administration and infrastructure management best practices

Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Identity Federation, Single Sign-On, and authorization technologies including SAML, OIDC, OAuth, Kerberos, and smart card/CAC authentication
  • Oracle COTS products including Oracle Access Manager, Oracle Unified Directory, and Oracle WebLogic
  • Kubernetes
  • Scripting languages including Bash and Python
  • LDAP directory services
  • ELK stack including Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana
  • Cloud-based architectures beyond AWS
  • Cross-domain architectures
  • Automated testing and monitoring
  • Engineering Review Boards and Change Management processes

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or Master's degree
  • CompTIA Security+ (current, required before start)
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Willingness and ability to obtain a CI Polygraph within the customer's timeline
  • U.S. citizenship required
