We are seeking a skilled and detail-orientedLinux System Administratorto join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing enterprise Linux environments and supporting storage, backup, security, and patching systems. This role requires hands-on expertise with IBM Enterprise Storage, Veritas NetBackup, and vulnerability management tools, along with a solid understanding of system hardening and package management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, maintain, and optimize Linux-based systems in a production environment
- Manage and supportIBM Enterprise Storagesolutions, ensuring high availability and performance
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshootVeritas NetBackupfor enterprise backup and recovery operations
- Perform system patching and package management usingYUMrepositories
- Execute and remediate vulnerability scans usingNessus, ensuring compliance with security standards
- Support and maintainSTE/STINprocesses and environments (as applicable to organizational standards)
- Implement and maintain system security configurations, includingNSFframeworks/policies
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for infrastructure upgrades, audits, and incident response
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and compliance requirements
Qualifications
Clearance Required: TS/SCI with poly
Education/Experience:
- Requires Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on Linux system administration experience (RHEL, CentOS, or similar)
Required Skills:
- Experience withIBM Enterprise Storage systems
- Strong knowledge ofVeritas NetBackup (NetBackup Administration)
- Experience withNessus vulnerability scanning and remediation workflows
- Proficiency withYUM package managementand patching strategies
- Familiarity withSTE/STINprocesses andNSF-related security frameworks
- Solid understanding of Linux security, system hardening, and compliance practices
- Strong troubleshooting and scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar)
What is ideal?
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent certification
- Experience in enterprise environments with high availability and disaster recovery requirements
- Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, or similar)
- Exposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments
- Intelligence Community Experience preferred
