Full Job Description
The Linux Engineer will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and enhancement of Linux-based systems to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient operation in compliance with DoD standards.
  • Administer and support Linux servers and workstations, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Apply patches and security configurations according to DoD Information Assurance standards including STIG compliance.
  • Perform troubleshooting and resolve hardware, software, and network issues related to Linux environments.
  • Collaborate with cyber security teams to implement NIST and Risk Management Framework (RMF) guidelines.
  • Manage and automate system configurations and deployments using scripting tools such as Bash, Python and Ansible.
  • Support virtualization environments and distributed file systems.
  • Document system changes, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities thoroughly.
