This Line Producer position supports multiple shows across the NBC News NOW platform, from breaking news blocks to signature daily programming. You'll be part of a dynamic team that works across formats and dayparts, so flexibility, speed, and teamwork are key. **Responsibilities:** - Work closely with senior producers and executive producers to build, refine, and execute daily rundowns across several NBC News NOW shows - Lead the control room during live broadcasts - making quick editorial decisions and adjusting rundowns as breaking news develops - Collaborate with show directors to block and time live programming - Approve and copy edit scripts with an eye for tone, accuracy, and editorial standards - Pitch compelling news stories and fresh, original segment ideas - Work with producers to identify the strongest elements for every block, from video and graphics to sound and live guests - Write headlines, teases, and scroll graphics that drive viewer engagement - Generate fresh copy in real time when news is moving fast - Communicate effectively with talent, guests, and correspondents - Move seamlessly between shows and teams - and embrace a fast-paced, always-changing news cycle **Qualifications** - 5+ years of experience working in broadcast, cable, or live-streaming news - Minimum 3 years on a live, daily show - At least 1 year as a line producer, ideally with breaking news experience - Strong editorial judgment and deep understanding of journalistic standards - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience - Willing and able to work in person five days a week in New York, NY **Desired Characteristics:** - Strong journalist with excellent control room instincts - Editorially sharp and visually creative - you care about headlines, graphics, and clean visual storytelling - Energized by live breaking news and able to jump in anytime - nights, weekends, holidays - Steady under pressure and decisive in a fast-paced control room - Enjoys working collaboratively across multiple teams and formats **Additional Requirements:** - **Flexible schedule** - this role includes early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends as needed - **Required On-Site: **This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
