Job Description:Job Responsibilities:
As the Line Boring Technician, you will be performing portable line boring, welding and grinding duties for rebuilds and repairs on Caterpillar Equipment in both the shop and field.
- Maintain Caterpillar Construction Equipment, Mining Equipment and Expanded Mining Equipment in a field environment
- Set up, operate line boring equipment and measuring tools to complete the weld build up, fitting and related tasks
- Component rebuild and repair, weld, grind, re-machine bores, some Manufacturing
- Perform routine maintenance work
- Occasional work at heights and confined spaces
- Frequent bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting/pushing of up to 45 pounds without assistance
- Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Welder or Machinist Ticket with Interprovincial Certification
- Valid driver’s license (drivers abstract as a condition of offer)
- Proven line boring experience
- Strong welding aptitude: vertical, flat, and overhead test for both SMAW and FCAW, machining experience is beneficial
Important Details
- This position is based out of Cranbrook, BC on a 4x3 compressed shift
- Both Shop and Field work will be required
- A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site Access which includes Drug and Alcohol Screening, be fit tested and have the ability to wear a respirator
