Under the supervisionof the Director of Marketing & Trademark Licensing, the Licensing Manager will provide a wide range of business development functions to support and enhance the department and overall Yale Name. As outlined in the Principal Responsibilities, the Licensing Manager will simultaneously manage Licensing duties as assigned, multiple marketing functions (including the Yale Collection program), and on campus commercial filming/photography. In addition, the Licensing Manager will travel as required in support of their position and department including Las Vegas Licensing Expo, Atlanta Gift Show and one international Licensing Expo.
PrincipalResponsibilities:1. Must be an excellent communicator (written & verbal)– with strong interpersonal skills.
2. Must have a strong professional presence and excellent presentation skills, with the ability to successfully discuss/present our programs to outside entities.
3. Understanding of basic retail practices - including pricing, maintenance of inventory levels, and buying principles.
4. Must be adept with Microsoft Office.
5. Ability to travel.
At least two to four years of related work experience in marketing, licensing or retail.
Familiarity with contracts and/or financial documents relating to business planning.
The ability to multi-task and quickly switch priorities as required.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Attend key Licensing events to help secure new licensing partners, especially in under developed product classifications. 2. Manage all domestic contracts on a day to day basis ensuring new agreements are issued on a timely basis. 3. Respond to all product development approval requests ensuring Style Guide requirements are followed. 4. Work with stakeholders to review and purge all unproductive domestic licensees as needed. 5. Work together with outside accounting company and office administration ensure all royalty payments are received in a timely manner. 6. Work with management to develop and execute strategy to expand ancillary revenue channels such as internal sale, Yale Collection wholesale and book signing events. 7. Perform additional duties as assigned.
