**This position offers up to a $25,000 sign on bonus based on experience**

BluePearl Pet Hospital in vibrant Downtown Manhattan is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency overnight team.

Working overnight offers unique benefits, including quieter commutes, a more focused work environment, and shift differentials to boost your earning potential.

Schedule: Thurs--Sat or Fri--Sun (or a variation of these days)

Pay: $30.00 - $51.00 / hour + competitive shift differentials

This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. *Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example:
  • Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = +$4.50/hr. Shift Differential
  • Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = +$8.00/hr. Shift Differential
  • Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = +$4.50/hr. Shift Differential


As a Veterinary Technician, you will:

  • Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital and follow them from ER treatment to admission in our intensive care unit.
  • Perform anesthesia for minor procedures like bite wound repairs, lacerations, etc.
  • Perform digital radiography, utilizing sedation and other restraint/positioning techniques.
  • Use your understanding of normal patient vital signs to monitor and identify patients who are at risk for arrest.
  • Have the opportunity to be certified in both BLS and ALS RECOVER CPR for free
  • Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
  • Be proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters.
  • Learn to place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
  • Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
  • Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
  • Additional relevant responsibilities.
