From providing direct counseling services to connecting families with community supports, you'll be a trusted advocate for students facing challenges both inside and outside the classroom. Licensed School Social Worker - Key Responsibilities:- Student Support & Counseling: Provide individual and group counseling to address students' social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs.
- IEP & 504 Plan Collaboration: Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans. Offer social-emotional input, behavioral goals, and recommendations for interventions.
- Family & Community Liaison: Act as a bridge between home, school, and community resources. Support families by connecting them to relevant services and programs.
- Crisis Intervention: Respond to crises and provide immediate support to students, staff, and families during emergency situations.
- Case Management & Documentation: Maintain thorough and confidential records of student progress, services provided, and communication with stakeholders. Prepare documentation for IEP meetings and evaluations.
- Multidisciplinary Team Participation: Collaborate with educators, psychologists, counselors, administrators, and other team members to assess student needs and create holistic support plans.
Qualifications - LBSW or LCSW/LISW - New MexicoLicensure: Current and valid New Mexico social work license (LBSW or LCSW/LISW) issued by the New Mexico Board of Social Work Examiners, along with a New Mexico PED School Social Worker license (Pre-K-12).
Clearances:
- Criminal Background Check (fingerprint clearance)
- TB Clearance (current within the past 60 days or as required by employer)
Preferred Qualifications:- Previous experience working in a school-based setting
- Strong knowledge of community mental health resources
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Physical Demands:- Environment: Occasional exposure to typical school conditions including dust, noise, and changing environments.
- Activity: Regular standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Sensory: Ability to perform essential job duties with or without assistive devices or accommodations, including in moderate to high noise environments.
