Term Full-Time Position - (1.0 FTE)

September 1, 2026 - May 1, 2027

This position is at the L07 level with an hourly pay range of $41.83 - $52.93

(PSAC Bargaining Unit)

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides compassionate, patient-centered care within their scope of practice. They collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver safe and effective nursing care, support patients in achieving optimal health outcomes, and ensure adherence to clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Knowledge of established practices and procedures of professional LPN nursing care;
  • Ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities is essential;
  • Ability to develop and implement nursing care plans and collaborates with the healthcare team in discharge planning;
  • Excellent communication skills required;
  • Works well independently and within a team;
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills within scope of practice, including clinical judgement, problem solving skills and strong decision-making ability;
  • Cross-Cultural awareness;
  • Advocacy and assertiveness skills;
  • Ability to teach nursing practices and other relevant unit skills;
  • Basic keyboarding/computer skills required.


The successful applicant should have certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Yukon Territory through Consumer and Corporate Affairs and current C.P.R. Certification with a minimum of 6 (six) months acute care nursing experience related to assigned department/unit. A Diploma in Practical Nursing from a Canadian Post-Secondary Institute and continuing education in specialty areas (example: Pediatric, Mental Health, Wound Care, Palliative Care In-services) and Meditech Expanse experience would be considered assets for this position.
