Full Job Description
Licensed Outpatient Clinician

Program & Location: New Bedford Outpatient
Education: Independently licensed Behavioral Health Clinician, including: LICSW/LMHC/LMFT
Pay Range: $38 - $44/hr (experience, education and licensure dependent)
Status: Part time or Full Time
Schedule: Full Time, Tuesday 8AM - 4:30pm, Wednesday and Thursday 1:30am - 8PM. Friday 8AM-4:30PM - Saturday, 2 evenings required Saturday 8AM-12PM On-Site and 1PM-4:30PM remote
Part Time, Flexible day/evening shift includes Saturday 8AM-12PM On-Site

Spanish speaking clinician preferred! This clinician would be a group facilitator for our Structured Outpatient Addiction Program (SOAP).

Clinician Requirements
  • Must always present as courteous and professional;
  • Maintains and submits any current Licensure or Certificate necessary for the performance of the position;
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks;
  • Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion;
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPAO Electronic Health Record (EHR);
  • Must have the ability to work with others in a cooperative and collaborative manner;
  • An understanding of the relationship between substance use and mental health issues and/or self-help programs;
  • Understand and maintain therapeutic boundaries;
  • Reinforce rules in a respectful manner;
  • Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder and HIPAA Regulations;
  • TB/Flu and Covid19 Assessment;
  • Annual Completion of the HPAO crisis de-escalation program;
  • CPR Certification;
  • Successful completion of all trainings upon hire and annually as required.


Clinician Duties and Responsibilities
  • Crisis intervention;
  • Maintain assigned caseload;
  • Providing direct care to patients/residents - including assessments, individual counseling, discharge and aftercare planning, treatment plans and updates, weekly progress notes, daily groups facilitation, group note completion, and completion of bio-psychosocial assessments;
  • Making referrals when appropriate;
  • Responsible for each assigned patients/residents' medical records. All records are to be professional, complete and thorough with entries made in a timely manner;
  • Responsible connecting patients/residents with aftercare services prior to discharge and aiding the resident and his/her family access services when appropriate;
  • Communicating/involving family in treatment at patients/residents' request;
  • Attend and participate in all unit, facility meetings, case conferences, Treatment Team meetings, and mandatory trainings, as directed by the Clinical Supervisor/Director;
  • Responsible for continued education in the field of substance use, mental health and related courses;
  • Always utilize standards precautions;
  • Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients as defined by the patient's rights.

Outpatient Services Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Providing clinical services to patients - including required assessments, individual/family/couples counseling, group clinical services, discharge planning, treatment plans, progress notes, and completion of bio-psychosocial assessments;
  • Responsible for each assigned patients' medical records. All records are to be professional, complete and thorough with entries made in a timely manner;
  • Completion of all required external clinical communications including court/DCF/DMH monthly compliance reports, evaluation summaries, other requested external documentation;
  • Ability to provide clinical services through in-person and telehealth modalities;
  • Responsible for linking patients with aftercare services prior to discharge and aiding the
  • patient and his/her family access outpatient services when appropriate;
  • Attend all identified meetings, MDT meetings and case conferences as directed by the Clinical Director;
  • Attend mandatory trainings and seek opportunities for clinical growth through certification;
  • Maintain professional license in good standing, as applicable;
  • Responsible for contacting the insurance company for authorization, as needed;
  • Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients as defined by the patient's rights;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Program Director, Clinical Supervisor or Assistant Program Director.
