LIBRARY SERVICES COORDINATOR - DIGITAL EXPERIENCE
(Permanent Full-Time)

The West Vancouver Memorial Library (WVML) is seeking a creative, energetic, organized individual to take on a permanent full-time supervisory role as Library Services Coordinator-Digital Experience. The WVML Technology Team is passionate, inspired, and known throughout the province for innovation, responsiveness, and leadership. Reporting to the Head of Technology, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating service delivery specific to the Library's Digital Experience Portfolio;
• Planning, delivering, and evaluating public and staff flexible and engaging programming related to digital literacy and emerging technologies;
• Monitoring, evaluating, and implementing the Library's front-facing technologies such as circulating technology kits and the catalogue discovery layer;
• Planning, assigning, checking, supervising & scheduling the work of professional librarians and clerical staff;
• Interviewing and hiring new staff and volunteers; providing training and development; and conducting performance appraisals;
• Participating in departmental planning and budget development, monitoring staffing budgets, participating in the formulation of departmental policies and procedures;
• Providing information and assistance to the public;
• Resolving problems concerning patrons, staff, departmental operations, services, and facilities; and
• Performing related work as required.

The successful candidate will possess: Master's Degree in Library Science from a program accredited or recognized as an equivalent by the American Library Association; three or more years of professional library experience; some supervisory experience and/or training; considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of librarianship; and sound knowledge of the methods, techniques, practices, and procedures related to the implementation of library programs, projects and services.

The successful candidate will be required to supply a police information check and a copy of their credentials.

Position Status:

Union (WVMEA) - Permanent Full-Time

Hours of Work:

37.5 hours per week (hours and days of work may vary)

Starting Rate of Pay:

$45.32 per hour (2025 rate)

(This position has a pay structure with five steps which increase annually.)
