About the PositionPlease note: The salary range above represents this position's earning potential. The anticipated hiring range for this position will be $82,352 to $117,060 based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. What You'll Be Doing- Provides exemplary service to all library customers. Task-oriented in leading a team to fulfill projects, operations, and services.

THIS RECRUITMENT WILL GENERATE A 6-MONTH ELIGIBLE LIST TO FILL CURRENT AND FUTURE VACANCIES FOR THE LIBRARIAN II POSITIONS AT ALL BRANCH LOCATIONS WITHIN MCPL.
Hours for this position:
- Library hours of operation are 7 days a week including evenings, days, and weekends. Employees are expected to be available for work during these times. Individual schedules, including evenings and weekends, will vary based on branch operational needs.
Minimum QualificationsExperience: Two (2) years of professional experience as a librarian in a public library system comparable to Montgomery County's system.
Education: Master's degree in library science from a college or university accredited by the American Library Association.
Equivalency: None.
License/Certifications: Employees will be responsible for maintaining appropriate level of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to sustain licensing. Note: There will be no substitutions for this section.
Medical exam protocol: This position requires completion of a pre-employment medical history form to assess your ability to safely perform the essential duties of the role.
Preferred Criteria, Interview PreferencesAll Applicants will be reviewed by the Office of Human Resources (OHR) for minimum qualifications. Those applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be rated "Qualified," placed on the Referred List, and may be considered for an interview.
Preference for interviews will be given to applicants with experience in the following:
1. Experience planning and organizing a service or project.
2. Experience maintaining a collection in a public, school or community college library setting.
3. Experience providing a variety of library services and resources to adults, seniors, and people with disabilities in a public, school, or community college setting.
4. Experience and familiarity with web applications and new technologies.
