Full Job Description
Location: NYC (Hybrid - at least 3 days onsite/week) Visa Sponsorship: We offer sponsorship under specific treaty-based U.S. work visas, including TN and E-2 (for eligible Canadian, Mexican, and French citizens). We do not support or transfer other visa types (e.g., H-1B). Visa Sponsorship: Talan does not sponsor U.S. work permits or employment visas. We are seeking a Letter of Credit Analyst to join our team, responsible for the timely and accurate execution of activities related to letters of credit, including issuing import documentary and standby LCs, processing amendments, and advising and confirming export documentary and standby LCs. The ideal candidate will deliver accurate results in a fast-paced environment, often under time constraints. Role and responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end operational workflow for Import and Export Letters of Credit, including issuances, advisements, payments, and amendments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all transactions.
  • Initiates daily and weekly task lists/check-ins with team members to better streamline work assignments and foster collaborations.
  • Ensure full adherence to Federal Reserve regulations and internal compliance standards, proactively identifying and mitigating risk exposure.
  • Conduct thorough review of presented documents to identify and resolve discrepancies, maintaining a high accuracy rate on approved applications.
  • Partner closely with Relationship Managers and Relationship Liaisons to support client needs and uphold service standards.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in UCP 600 and Incoterms, contributing to team training and process documentation.
  • Maintenance and Processing of Process Transfers and/or Assignment requests such as issuance/amending/and advising of Letters of Credits. Related to qualifications in your query

  • Attention to detail in data entry and administrative tasks
  • Preparation, negotiation, and settlement of all Letters of Credit.
  • Review and identify discrepancies in documents presented under Letters of Credit.
  • Fee reconciliation and billings including past dues payments.
  • Client follow up, updating/reviewing credit agreements in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate internal operational support including Middle Office and Deal Closing team and/or counterparties to ensure compliance with company's policies and country regulations.
Qualifications
  • 3 years of experience managing end-to-end operational workflow for Import and Export Letters of Credit, including issuances, advisements, payments, and amendments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all transactions.
  • Knowledge of Uniform Customs & Practices (ICC Pub 600), ISP98 (ICC Pub 590), Uniform Rules for Bank-to-Bank Reimbursements (ICC Pub 525), and Uniform Rules for Collections (ICC Pub 522)
  • Proficiency in Excel & Word; Loan IQ and Swift are a strong plus
  • Undergraduate degree, accounting background a major advantage
  • Organized, proactive, highly motivated, with strong written/verbal communication and attention to detail
