Full Job Description
The OGC Technology & Operations Officer is a high-impact role at the intersection of legal operations, technology, project management, and innovation within a global Office of the General Counsel department. This individual will help shape and support the department's technology ecosystem, including key platforms such as OGC ContractView and iManage, while partnering with internal stakeholders and external vendors to improve how legal work is managed, delivered, and scaled. The role is ideal for a legal operations professional who enjoys driving practical solutions, managing complex projects, supporting digital transformation, and contributing to emerging initiatives such as generative AI and legal workflow automation.

Serving as a central point of coordination for legal systems, operational processes, and department-wide initiatives, this role requires strong judgment, curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across Legal, Technology, Procurement, Finance, Compliance, and vendor teams. The successful candidate will bring a continuous-improvement mindset and the ability to translate user needs, policy requirements, and technology capabilities into efficient, user-friendly solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advance legal technology and digital transformation by supporting core legal platforms, improving workflows, and partnering with Legal, Technology, Procurement, and vendor teams to enhance the user experience and system reliability.
  • Oversee contract and document management systems by supporting enhancements, defect remediation, upgrades, testing, document retrieval, reporting, user training, and access oversight for platforms such as OGC ContractView and iManage.
  • Support innovation and operational excellence by contributing to AI-enabled tools, knowledge management, workflow optimization, benchmarking, vendor engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate emerging legal technology solutions by engaging with vendors, monitoring market trends, and identifying practical opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal function.
  • Manage legal operations projects and governance activities by coordinating cross-functional initiatives such as legal opinion tracking, business continuity planning, records retention, access certifications, reporting, and operational controls.
  • Strengthen records, access, and reporting controls by supporting records retention, document deletion, employee access reviews, annual certifications, policy maintenance, and recurring management reporting.
  • Support global legal opinion and business continuity processes by tracking updates, coordinating distribution, maintaining planning materials, and helping keep key legal information accurate and accessible.
  • Provide practical legal and compliance support by assisting with document review, regulatory support, and legal documentation processes that require sound judgment, attention to detail, and legal project experience.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting an in-house legal department, law firm, or comparable professional services environment.
  • Experience identifying workflow inefficiencies and helping implement practical solutions.
  • Project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple cross-functional legal operations, technology, governance, and innovation initiatives .
  • Ability to manage system enhancements, defect remediation, upgrades, and user acceptance testing, including scheduled weekend testing windows.
  • Experience administering or supporting document management or contract management systems (iManage, NetDocuments, or similar) preferred.
  • Experience in financial services or another regulated industry preferred.
  • Experience supporting or administering legal technology platforms, including contract management, document management, workflow, knowledge management, or AI-enabled tools preferred.


Salary Range

$80,000 - $120,000
