Legal Counsel - Commercial TransactionsLegal Counsel – Commercial Transactions is an early-career attorney who provides foundational legal support across Lennar's commercial contracting and business transaction activities. This role assists with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating routine commercial agreements, conducts legal research, and partners with business teams to address day-to-day contracting needs while developing legal judgment and transactional skills under senior attorney guidance.
Your Responsibilities on the Team
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of routine commercial agreements, including vendor, supplier, purchase, and non-disclosure agreements, escalating higher-risk or complex terms to senior attorneys.
Support business teams with practical, timely legal guidance on day-to-day contracting questions, standard-form agreements, and routine business transactions.
Assist senior attorneys with due diligence, documentation, and administrative support on larger or more complex transactions, such as strategic investments, joint ventures, partnerships, and technology agreements.
Perform legal research and analysis on commercial and contract law issues, preparing clear memoranda and recommendations for review by senior attorneys.
Help manage outside counsel on routine, lower-risk commercial matters to help ensure cost-efficient, high-quality legal support aligned with business goals.
Maintain accurate and well-organized contract files, records, and tracking logs, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal recordkeeping requirements.
Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation guidelines for standard commercial matters.
Develop legal judgment and transactional skill through hands-on experience, feedback, and mentorship, progressively increasing the responsibility and complexity of matters handled.
Help identify potential legal and business risks in routine matters and escalate issues appropriately to senior attorneys.
Your Toolbox
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in the U.S.
0-5 years of legal experience, with exposure to commercial contracting, corporate, or transactional matters preferred.
Familiarity with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements (e.g., vendor, supplier, service, or licensing agreements) preferred.
Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, balancing legal risk with business growth.
Prior experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or judicial clerkship is a plus.
Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:
This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.

General Overview of Compensation & Benefits:
We reasonably expect the base compensation offered for this position to range from an annual salary of $115,000.00 - $143,700, subject to adjustment based on business-related factors such as employee qualifications, geographic pay differentials (e.g., cost of labor/living, etc.), and operational considerations.
