Job Description:

Systems Integration & Engineering
  • Is responsible for ensuring the performance and reliability of multiple systems.
  • May develop business continuity practices for LMS systems
  • Provide engineering-level technical support for the Center's learning management system (LMS) environment, with a focus on integration points, automation, complex configuration needs, and operational reliability.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of integrations between the Center's learning systems and the broader technology ecosystem, including the student information system, LTI tools, course authoring tools, and data systems.
  • Contribute to integration architecture decisions, including evaluation of middleware, point-to-point integration, vendor-supported connections, and off-the-shelf integration approaches.
  • Coordinate with internal IT partners and external vendors to troubleshoot integrations, evaluate technical feasibility, and support implementation of learning technology systems.

Automation & Engineering Tooling
  • Develop scripts, services, and automations to streamline course operations, content deployment, user provisioning, enrollment management, and routine administrative tasks.
  • Build robust, well-instrumented automation that runs reliably in production environments, with appropriate logging, error handling, monitoring, documentation, and recovery.
  • Identify opportunities to replace manual processes with automated workflows, prioritizing those with the highest impact on learner experience and team capacity.
  • Support continuous improvement of technical workflows by identifying recurring system issues, proposing scalable solutions, and implementing sustainable fixes.

Reporting & Analytics Enablement
  • Formulates and implements monitoring systems procedures and work plans.
  • Configure and maintain LMS and system data exports, technical reports, and integration mechanisms that enable downstream analysis by data, program, product, and research teams.
  • Partner with the data team to ensure clean, reliable learner engagement, progress, and outcome data flows from learning systems into reporting infrastructure.
  • Support learning analytics integrations as needed to support program evaluation, continuous improvement, and strategic decision making.

Security, Privacy, and Responsible Data Use
  • May perform basic data maintenance.
  • Follow the UF, the Center, and applicable education data privacy and security requirements when supporting integrations, automations, authentication workflows, and data transfers.
  • Apply appropriate access controls, credential management practices, and documentation standards when working with systems and data.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to support responsible data use and protect learner information.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
  • Is responsible for the preparation and modification of technical and capacity documentation.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation for system configurations, integrations, automations, data flows, troubleshooting steps, and recurring technical processes.
  • Develop runbooks, checklists, and process guides that help team members operate systems reliably and onboard new staff efficiently.
  • Translate technical concepts, system limitations, and troubleshooting findings for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to technology planning, system improvement discussions, and cross-functional conversations about learning technology operations.

$82,000-$95,000

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, or a closely related technical field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in systems administration, technical analysis, application support, systems integration, workflow automation, LMS support, or related technology work.
  • Experience supporting enterprise systems, SaaS platforms, LMS, customer relationship management (CRM) system, student information systems (SIS), business applications, or other technology platforms
  • Experience working with APIs, data imports/exports, system configuration, reporting tools, or workflow automation.
  • Experience with scripting, reporting, or automation tools such as Python, JavaScript, SQL, Power Automate, or comparable tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues across systems, configurations, user workflows, integrations, and data flows.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently on assigned tasks, and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Strong documentation skills, including the ability to create technical notes, runbooks, process documentation, and user-facing explanations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-specialist audiences.
  • Experience supporting or administering D2L Brightspace or another LMS.
  • Experience with LMS APIs, such as D2L Valence, Canvas API, or comparable systems.
  • Experience supporting integrations between an LMS with an SIS, CRM, or other enterprise systems.
  • Familiarity with authentication, authorization, or interoperability standards such as SAML, OAuth, LTI, xAPI, or Caliper.
  • Experience working with vendors, IT partners, or cross-functional implementation teams to support technology projects.
  • Familiarity with education data privacy, secure data transfer, access control, or compliance requirements in educational or enterprise environments.
