Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Learning Specialist for the Office for Development and Academic Success in the Sciences (ODASIS). ODASIS is a Rutgers University campuswide academic support program dedicated to supporting students to excel in science and mathematics courses, leading to professional healthcare careers and health-related graduate programs.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Provides learning assistance to students within the Office for Development and Academic Success in the Sciences (ODASIS).
- Supports students through one-on-one personalized student academic plans, career advising, and mentoring.
- Develops programs and strategies to improve recruitment, retention, and graduation rates.
- Hires, trains and supervises peer Supplemental Instructors for the weekly academic support sessions and mandatory study halls to help students build the skills needed to succeed in the sciences.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree in biology or related field.
- At least two (2) years of professional experience working collaboratively with faculty, students, and staff in an academic support services environment.
Certifications/LicensesRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Good communication skills and computer literacy.
Preferred Qualifications - Masters degree in biology, higher education or a related field.
Equipment Utilized - PC desktop computer, PC laptop computer, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Acrobat.
