The Global Learning Consultant, Digital & Professional Skills Institute supports the end to end design, development, and delivery of enterprise learning for legal topics including but not limited to new hire orientation and to mandatory learning.
Working within a Global Delivery Center structure, this role works closely with the Director, Digital & Professional Skills Institute, business stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), alliance partners, and regional L&D teams to design and implement scalable learning packages that support workforce growth, organizational transformation, and client delivery requirements.
As an active individual contributor, the Learning Consultant acts as a hands on instructional designer and training specialist. The role is responsible for conducting training needs analysis, designing comprehensive blended learning paths, producing digital learning content, facilitating training, and measuring program effectiveness using learning analytics.
This role is part of the global L&D Centre of Expertise (CoE) and reports to the Director, Digital & Professional Skills Institute.
Your future duties and responsibilities: Global capability program design, development & delivery (40% 45%)
• Support end to end governance of enterprise mandatory learning programs across Security, Privacy, Ethics and Legal.
• Design and develop high quality learning and development solutions using instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and modern e learning development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, RISE, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, Vyond) for legal related topics (e.g. data privacy, security, ethics, records management, etc.), including but not limited to new hire orientation and mandatory learning.
• Partner with functional leaders and subject matter experts to assess learning for new legal requirements, helping to support our CGI Partners to responsibly manage risks.
• Facilitate and deliver engaging learning experiences (both virtually and in person) utilizing modern adult learning principles, neuroscience and learner engagement techniques.
• Lead global launch readiness, multilingual deployment, UAT coordination and stakeholder alignment.
• Coordinate, run and perform reviews of annual legal mandatory learning campaigns.
Capability operations, tracking, and continuous improvement (25% 30%)
• Develop and maintain the annual mandatory learning roadmap in partnership with business sponsors.
• Develop assessments to measure learning outcomes and apply evaluation frameworks to measure training effectiveness and behavior change (Kirkpatrick Model, LTEM, AGES, Brinkerhoff, etc.).
• Use data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, BI tools) to track, analyze, and report on learning metrics, learner feedback, and adoption rates to drive continuous improvement.
• Manage, upload, and optimize courses and curriculum structures within enterprise learning management systems (e.g., CGI Academia) ensuring SCORM/xAPI standards are met.
• Manage compliance reporting, learning dashboards, audit support and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support governance, prioritization, and workflow tracking across the Digital & Professional Skills Institute portfolio.
• Coordinate with learning providers, digital content aggregators (e.g., Skillsoft), and external vendors to integrate third party assets into internal learning paths.
Stakeholder collaboration and relationship support (15% 20%)
• Partnering closely with legal shareholders to understand learning needs and understand strategy.
• Provide advisory support to stakeholders and regional L&D teams to align local legal learning needs with the overarching global learning strategy.
• Partner and collaborate cross functionally with internal subject matter experts and learning contributors to curate, package, and refine expert led legal content.
• Coordinate cross functional delivery across SMEs, Academia, Global Communications, Translation teams and external vendors.
• Collaborate and share best practices with peer L&D specialists and learning coordinators within the team and the wider L&D CoE to elevate instructional design and delivery quality.

• Support collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the global L&D community.
• Stay ahead of emerging trends, innovations, and best practices in AI capability, instructional design technologies, and workforce development.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:• 4- 6 years of professional experience in Learning & Development, with a clear focus on instructional design, technical curriculum development, and learning analytics.
• Deep expertise in adult learning theory, cognitive design, ADDIE, SAM, and creating highly interactive blended learning pathways in a learner centric approach.
• Exceptional virtual and classroom facilitation, presentation, and learner engagement skills
• Proven ability to consult with business units, deconstruct business needs, and translate them into actionable learning objectives.
• Experience designing data driven assessment strategies and evaluating program impact.
• Experience advising business leaders, diagnosing performance gaps, and proposing effective learning interventions.
• Hands on proficiency with Articulate Storyline, RISE, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud Vyond, and experience working with external content libraries (e.g., Skillsoft).
• Experience configuring learning pathways in major LMS platforms (e.g. Cornerstone, Workday Learning, Moodle) and applying SCORM, AICC, and xAPI specifications.
• Experience designing, packaging, and scaling training solutions within a Global Delivery Center across multiple geographies, cultures, and time zones.
• Ability to build strong relationships, influence stakeholders, and collaborate effectively with diverse global teams.
• Fluency in English is required. French is an asset.
Qualifications and education
• Post graduate education in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Project Management (e.g., PMP, Agile), Change Management
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $60 000-$110 000. This role is an existing vacancy.
