What You Will Do:

The Learning and Development Specialist in support of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) will support the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of training programs for government staff. This role combines instructional design expertise, program management, and an understanding of industry best practices to enhance organizational capability and workforce development. This includes:

  • Instructional Design: Ability to create effective training content, modules, and learning pathways

  • Program Development: Skilled in refining and enhancing existing programs and building new ones

  • Needs Assessment: Identifies learning gaps and proposes targeted learning solutions

  • Strategic Thinking: Contributes to L&D strategy and aligns solutions with organizational goals

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Works effectively with government staff, SMEs, and leadership

  • Technology & Tools: Comfortable evaluating COTS solutions and using learning platforms or LMS tools

  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Regularly evaluates program effectiveness and adapts accordingly

  • Communication & Facilitation: Clear, professional communicator in both classroom and virtual setting

** This role requires 5-days a week on client site in Arlington, VA.


What You Will Need:

  • Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "SECRET" security clearance; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of clearance prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE "SECRET" or higher-level clearance are preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree

  • SIX (6) or more years of experience in learning and development support work, including working knowledge of L&D industry best practices, methodologies, and adult learning theory

  • Experience designing, developing, and managing instructional materials

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD securityclearance

  • Experience supporting within the federal government

  • Familiarity with government training requirements (preferred)
