Job Purpose:

The Lean Manufacturing Director elevates CROM's organizational capability by architecting and executing a world-class Job Servicing Facility strategy that drives continuous improvement, operational excellence, safety, quality, and profitability. This role transforms Job Servicing from a support function into a strategically focused lean manufacturing operation that enhances enterprise value, supports organizational growth, and creates sustainable competitive advantages through transformational improvements across all servicing operations.

Essential Duties & Core Responsibilities

1. Strategic Manufacturing Leadership
  • Develop and execute a multi-year Lean Manufacturing and Job Servicing strategic roadmap.
  • Align operational initiatives with company value creation objectives and EBITDA improvement goals.
  • Partner with executive leadership to define future-state facility, equipment, workforce, and operational requirements.
  • Drive organizational transformation initiatives that improve efficiency, scalability, and profitability.
  • Serve as a change agent while preserving and strengthening CROM's culture and values.

2. Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish and implement lean manufacturing principles throughout Job Servicing operations.
  • Develop and monitor key operational performance indicators and metrics.
  • Improve On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance across all servicing functions.
  • Optimize conversion costs and reduce waste throughout manufacturing and servicing processes.
  • Drive standardization, process improvements, and asset utilization initiatives.
  • Partner with operational leaders on equipment optimization, including rent-versus-buy decisions.

3. Financial & Performance Management
  • Collaborate with the CFO to develop and maintain executive-level operational dashboards.
  • Establish performance metrics tied directly to financial outcomes and enterprise value creation.
  • Monitor budget versus actual performance and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Develop reporting mechanisms that support Board-level visibility into operational performance.
  • Demonstrate measurable links between operational initiatives and EBITDA improvements.

4. Systems & Technology Leadership
  • Lead successful implementation and optimization of Deltek MRP and related operational systems.
  • Evaluate current business processes and identify technology solutions that improve operational performance.
  • Ensure system utilization supports KPI tracking, operational visibility, and decision-making.
  • Promote data-driven operational management practices throughout Job Servicing functions.

5. Organizational Development & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with the Director of Job Servicing, Job Services Manager, and operational leadership teams to align strategic priorities.
  • Build strong relationships across regional offices and operating locations.
  • Assess organizational capabilities and identify opportunities for workforce development.
  • Create training and succession planning roadmaps to support future growth.
  • Foster collaboration between operations, finance, project management, and field teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive manufacturing, fabrication, service operations, or operational leadership experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience overseeing multi-site operations.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement programs.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale operational transformation initiatives.
  • Experience managing operational metrics including OEE, OTIF, equipment utilization, and cost performance.
  • Experience supporting rapid organizational growth, expansion, or integration initiatives.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Working Conditions
  • Frequent travel to regional offices, facilities, project sites, and operating locations.
  • Long or irregular working hours may be necessary to support business objectives, operational initiatives, and implementation projects.
