Avalanche Agency is an entity of KSE and is responsible for content planning, creation and distribution for the Colorado Avalanche.

The Colorado Avalanche is seeking a dynamic, technically skilled Lead Video Editor to deliver compelling video content across our brand channels. The ideal candidate will combine strong storytelling with fast-paced production skills, delivering high-quality and engaging highlight reels, feature stories, social content, and more. This person will also manage our Sr. Video Editor.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and edit high-quality video content for in-arena, digital platforms, and broadcast.
  • Edit footage into engaging hype videos, team opens, player features, etc.
  • Edit and optimize videos for in-arena and social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, X/Twitter, Facebook,etc).
  • Color grade and finalize videos for broadcast/web with consistent branding and tone.
  • Manage audio: clean dialogue, ambient sound, and music; ensure proper levels and licensing compliance.
  • Collaborate with content team, marketing, social team, and PR to pitch ideas and understand project goals and audience.
  • Meet agreed-upon deadlines for weekly/seasonal content.
  • Maintain and organize media library, backups, and project files; ensure metadata is consistent for easy retrieval.
  • Stay current with industry trends, editing techniques, and platform best practices for sports content.
  • Produce occasional long-form content as needed.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a video editor, with a strong sports portfolio (highlights, features, promos, or documentary-style work).
  • Proficiency with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects or similar motion-graphics tools)
  • Solid knowledge of color correction/grading, audio mixing, and basic sound design.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong storytelling sense, composition, and knowledge of sports dynamics to capture compelling moments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work irregular hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) as events occur.
