About the Role

Hinge is hiring a Lead Researcher, Growth, to improve user experiences on Hinge around the globe and drive product excellence within Hinge's Growth product group. In your role, you'll focus on understanding how our paid experiences can better help people go on great dates, how premium features serve different communities, and how to leverage experiments to optimize current offering and messaging.

Responsibilities

  • Lead research strategy: Build and drive the research roadmap for Growth product teams, ensuring that research informs product decision making and drives product strategy.
  • Develop and execute end-to-end research: Conduct end-to-end research using appropriate methods that range from strategic to iterative and evaluative to help the team achieve goals.
  • Growth experience: including research into international expansion, monetization and/or merchandising.
  • Building inclusive products: Experience thinking through different audiences' needs, pain points and behaviors, including working with accessibility needs in mind.
  • Being a strategic cross-functional partner: Work in close collaboration with other researchers and cross-functional partners (i.e., product managers, designers, data scientists, customer experience, marketing and brand strategy) to identify key research questions and prioritize projects in the short and long term.
  • Deliver high-impact insights at velocity: Generate actionable insights that help teams make decisions and build momentum towards our mission.
  • Champion culture and clarity: Model honest, empathetic communication and help cross-functional partners navigate ambiguity with confidence and care.


What We're Looking For

  • 6+ years of user research experience, including 2-3 years of experience in a consumer-facing product research role.
  • Experience working on monetization, subscriptions or new revenue streams or zero-to-one products.
  • Mixed methods with a strong quantitative (e.g., survey, experimental) skills and expertise with measuring sentiment in experiment frameworks.
  • Proficient in data manipulation, analysis, and dashboard creation with R, SPSS, and/or Looker (or similar statistical software.)
  • Strong communicator, committed to telling clear and compelling stories with data.
  • Proactive at building and sustaining trusting, successful relationships with cross-functional partners (e.g. data science, customer experience, product management, design, engineering, marketing.)
  • Eager to learn from, collaborate with, and mentor other researchers.
  • Champions team culture in authentic, courageous, and empathic ways.


$207,000 - $254,000 a year

Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York City. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
