DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is looking for you to join our team as a Lead Training Systems Engineer - Level 4 based out of
Aurora, CO.As the Lead Training Systems Engineer on the NGP Ground Operations & Training team, you will lead, design, and develop training products for mission operators. Training products will be used to train customer operators and trainers on NGP CONOPS, system design and capabilities, and ground system software for Telemetry, Tracking, and Commanding, Mission Management, sensor processing, satellite simulator operations and flight dynamics. You will be supporting the product vision and statement of work, ensuring that the products meet timely deliveries. The person in this role will support the senior technical authority for the day-to-day execution of the Operations and Training work stream, providing direct support to the Operations and Training Lead.
Roles and Responsibilities include:
- This is a technical lead role, requires that the person in this role has had technical hands-on experience producing training products. Also needs to understand the criticality of on-time execution
- Partner with subject matter experts and technology experts to execute the systems engineering statement of work
- This role will work directly with stakeholders, designers and engineers to deliver quality products and features
- Work cross functionally with other teams to execute the product strategy and roadmap. Lead training effort to on-time delivery and successful results
- Help to manage product backlog, iteration planning and elaboration of user stories
- Contribute to Operational Training Product development and maturity. Coordinate closely with SMEs to ensure that instructional design and development meet delivery with corresponding content
- Work closely and collaboratively with Procedure developers on the Operations & Training Team for product input and development
- The role is mission critical, time sensitive, and requires an individual who can hit the ground running, navigate a complex stakeholder environment, and maintain the highest standards of Operations & Training while delivering results within a tight window.
Basic Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance required at time of application
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of relevant experience; 6 years with a Master's; 4 years with a PhD
- Previous experience in developing training material IAW Instructional System Design Processes, or similar construct
- On-Console Command and Control Satellite Operations experience
- Professional and comfortable presentation skills in front of an audience, demonstrating command of the Space Vehicle material
- Ground System anomaly troubleshooting and resolution experience
- Agile Development Processes experience
- Project Management and Scheduling experience
- Commanding knowledge and experience in Space Vehicle Health and Safety
- Satellite simulator and ground system experience
- Experience w/MS Office Suite products
- Team Leadership Skills
- Occasional travel may be necessary
Preferred Qualifications:
- Eagle-3 Bus experience
- Space-based Infrared System experience
- Cornerstone Software experience
- Python scripting experience
- Previous experience writing Standard Operating Procedures
Primary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
