Honeywell Aerospace Engineering Test Services (ETS) in Tempe, AZ develops, maintains, and coordinates test equipment and solutions throughout the product lifecycle for a variety of aerospace control system product lines.

The Test Operations Lead provides strategic leadership and daily execution oversight of lab operations to ensure test equipment and environment readiness. Typical lab operations include:
  • Design, deployment, and maintenance, of test equipment.
  • Procuring equipment from external suppliers.
  • Installing, servicing, or modifying lab utilities (i.e., electrical, pneumatic, LN2, etc.)
  • Coordinating activities and resources at external test facilities.
  • Supporting root cause and corrective action for test equipment or test articles.

The Test Operations Lead also serves as a focal for customers and leadership regarding test environment design, status, strategic direction, and improvement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with Program Management, Engineering, and Lab Operations to align on test strategies, milestones, and forecast changes.
  • Apply mastery of test engineering concepts, standards, and industry practices to ensure proactive technical and operational decision-making.
  • Coordinate activities, priorities, and resource assignments to meet commitments.
  • Ensure test hardware, instrumentation, and documentation are ready for on-time execution.
  • Drive quick resolution of test equipment anomalies, equipment downtime, or hardware constraints.
  • Track progress against test commitments; communicate risks, blockers, and establish recovery plans.
  • Mentor technicians and junior engineers in best practices.
  • Continuously improve test workflows, cycle time, and reporting visibility.


Qualifications

We Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in technical disciplines such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • 6+ years of experience in test engineering, test operations, lab management or similar project management environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, or system-level testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project execution, drive results, and maintain schedule adherence.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

We Value
  • Degreed in Electrical or Software Engineering, or Engineering Program Management.
  • Experience developing project estimates and schedules
  • Knowledge of hardware and software verification and configuration management strategies
  • Ability to apply root cause and corrective action methodologies
  • Knowledge of industry test standards such as RTCA DO-160 or MIL-STD-810
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Use of lab instrumentation including DMMs, scopes, and standard tooling
