Job Description

The Department of Clinical Laboratories at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Lead Technologist, TH Clinical Lab Technologist 2, Chemistry & Immunology.

The successful candidate will:
  • Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations and any other tests or procedures conducted by the Chemistry and Hematology Laboratories.
  • Function as the Lead Technologist.
  • Adhere to departmental, hospital, and government regulations.
  • Train personnel in technical methodologies and interpretation of results.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory and statistics.
  • Assign appropriate staff to assure a smooth workflow.
  • Assist in coordinating administrative operations for the laboratory.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, as the duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above description.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Physical, or Biological Science.
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist Licensure.


Preferred Qualifications
  • ASCP certification.
