Job Title: Lead, Network Systems Engineer Job Code: 43612 Job Location: USA-UT-Salt Lake City Job Schedule: 9/80- employees work 9 out of 14 days- totaling 80 hours worked- and have every other Friday off Job Description: Position Overview: The Lead, Network Systems Engineer will design, integrate, maintain, and troubleshoot military communications networks. The role spans initial concept development, detailed network schematics, hardware and software implementation, test, and delivery. The ideal candidate has a strong technical understanding of TCP/IP networks and enterprise-grade routers, switches, and next-generation firewalls. Essential Functions: - Design, integrate, maintain, and troubleshoot military communications networks from initial concept through delivery. - Develop detailed network schematics and implement network hardware and software solutions. - Configure and troubleshoot network and next-generation firewall devices, ideally Cisco IOS/IOS-XE and NGFW platforms. - Apply routing, tunneling, and network services capabilities including GRE, IPsec, DMVPN, QoS, VLANs, multicast, DNS, NTP, and VoIP. - Implement and troubleshoot network security controls, including IP access lists and stateful protocol inspection. - Use network-management protocols and services including SNMP, SSH, syslog, and RADIUS/TACACS. - Support system integration, system verification, formal qualification, and customer integration and qualification events. - Coordinate technical decisions, risks, and delivery activities with engineering teams and senior customer organizations. Qualifications: - An ABET (EAC/CAC) accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or another engineering discipline and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience; graduate degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience; or an additional 4 years of relevant experience or education in lieu of a bachelor's degree. - Active U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance. Preferred Additional Skills: - Experience with IPv4 and IPv6 network design, including IP subnetting, DNS, NTP, VoIP, QoS, and BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP protocols. - Experience configuring and troubleshooting network and next-generation firewall devices, ideally Cisco IOS/IOS-XE and NGFW platforms. - Strong understanding of GRE, IPsec, DMVPN, IP quality of service, VLANs, and multicast. - Strong understanding of network security features, including IP access lists and stateful protocol inspection. - Familiarity with network-management protocols, including SNMP, SSH, syslog, and RADIUS/TACACS. - Active Top Secret U.S. DoD clearance is strongly preferred. - Networking certification such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent. - Experience with HAIPE/TACLANE or other military COMSEC/CRYPTO equipment and procedures. - Experience with tactical or military radio networks, such as Common Data Link (CDL). - Network design certification such as CCDA, CCDP, CCDE, CCAr, or equivalent. - Ability to operate as part of an engineering team, including knowledge of related disciplines. - Ability to interact with senior customer organizations and personnel. - Ability to operate with considerable independence and self-identify and pursue long-term interests. - Strong written and oral communication skills. - Experience managing projects that include system integration, verification, and formal qualification, including customer-site events. - Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to meet critical deadlines. - Experience using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, DOORS, or similar tools. #LI-CS3
