Job Description

Mission Technologies provides mission-critical engineering and technical services to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, National Security, Aerospace & Defense, and commercial customers worldwide. We are seeking a Systems Engineer Lead to support enterprise-level systems engineering efforts across the full system lifecycle. This role requires strong technical leadership, broad systems engineering expertise, and hands-on experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including modeling languages and tools.

Essential Job Responsibilities
• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, supportability, and effectiveness analyses.
• Conduct analyses across all phases of the system lifecycle, including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
• Translate customer or product requirements into logical and systematic system solutions within technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Perform functional analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies.
• Lead the development and maintenance of MBSE artifacts, architecture products, and system models using tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler or CATIA Magic Suite.
• Develop system architectures using SysML, UML, and UAF.
• Apply extensive technical expertise and sound engineering judgment to solve complex problems.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams, presenting technical approaches and findings.
• Support and lead integration, verification, validation, and test events.
• Mentor junior engineers in MBSE methods, modeling best practices, and systems engineering fundamentals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience with MBSE workflows and digital engineering methods.
  • Experience performing requirements analysis, allocation, traceability, verification planning, and validation.
  • Experience conducting trade studies, functional decomposition, and interface analysis.
  • Proficiency with modeling languages such as SysML, UML, and/or UAF.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance; candidates will be subject to a background investigation and drug screening.


Preferred Requirements
• Ten (10) years of experience in systems engineering or engineering design and development.
• Demonstrated experience participating in training-related test events for Integrated Training Systems (ITS), including systems such as BFTT and ATD.
• Experience working with DoD programs, customers, and acquisition processes.
• Master's degree in Systems Engineering or related technical discipline.
• INCOSE ASEP/CSEP/ESEP certification or equivalent SE credentials.
• Experience integrating system models with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama).
• Experience leading engineering teams or acting as a technical lead on complex programs.
• Familiarity with system-of-systems engineering, digital engineering ecosystems, and large-scale architecture development.

Physical Requirements

Office, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
