Duties

Help

  • Serves as a team leader and senior specialist in a division responsible for establishing and enforcing policy for the execution of distribution operations to support DLA Distribution Centers.
  • Participates in the development of command-wise policies and plans for managing workload and performance.
  • Serves as the interface to the DLA Distribution Centers by interpreting and clarifying policies and procedures to all levels of management and employees.
  • Monitors resources and budget programs through Financial Web.
  • Develops, plans and implements command supply and distribution operations and program objectives and goals.
  • Conducts customer analysis, prepares high level customer briefings, and conducts high level project teams.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Lead Supply Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:

  • Leading programs and projects directly related to the full spectrum of supply distribution and resource management
  • Developing, planning, implementing and administering programs for command supply distribution operations and programs
  • Developing command-wide policies and plans for managing workload and performance
  • Researching, learning, and applying a wide variety of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, assess, analyze, and improve team effectiveness, efficiency, and work products
  • Providing advice to supervisors on behalf of the team to inform them of performance management issues/problems and provide information regarding related actions, such as assignments, reassignments, promotions, tour of duty changes, peer reviews and performance appraisals.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
