What will you be doing?

Role Overview

The Lead SPA serves as the primary operational enablement and execution leader within the SPA organization supporting different USA regions. This role provides experienced, hands-on oversight of complex financial and operational activities while acting as the first escalation point, mentor, and coach for SPAs.

Lead SPAs ensure consistent application of SPA standards, proactive issue resolution, and high-quality delivery across projects - enabling SPA Managers to focus on strategic leadership, workforce planning, and stakeholder alignment. The Lead SPA is expected to balance direct project work with coaching, oversight, and operational governance responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership & Execution
  • Lead and own execution of complex, high-risk, and/or non-standard projects, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and reliable delivery.
  • Provide day-to-day operational oversight across SPA portfolios to ensure project health, forecasting accuracy, and timely issue resolution.
  • Monitor project health indicators and proactively identify risks, trends, or issues requiring intervention.
  • Ensure consistent use of SPA tools, reporting standards, and governance practices across the team.

First-Line Escalation & Problem Solving
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for SPAs on project, financial, or process-related issues.
  • Independently resolve complex issues within defined authority, escalating appropriately when broader leadership decisions or cross-functional coordination are required.
  • Identify root causes of recurring issues and drive corrective actions or process improvements.
  • Partner with SPA Managers on escalations requiring broader decision-making, risk management, or cross-functional alignment.

Coaching, Mentorship & Quality Control
  • Coach, mentor, and support SPAs through real-time guidance and feedback, strengthening problem-solving capabilities and professional confidence.
  • Conduct quality reviews on forecasting, billing, reporting, and financial controls to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Support onboarding and ongoing skill development for SPAs joining the team.
  • Act as a role model for "what great looks like" in SPA execution, professionalism, and stakeholder communication.

Process Standardization & Continuous Improvement
  • Drive process standardization across regions and accounts by reinforcing best practices and identifying efficiency opportunities.
  • Support adoption of automation, reporting enhancements, and tooling improvements aligned to the modernization roadmap.
  • Collaborate with peer Lead SPAs and SPA Managers to share insights, improve consistency, and scale improvements across the organization.

Stakeholder Support & Collaboration
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholder teams to support accurate and timely financial and project reporting.
  • Proactively communicate risks, trends, and issues impacting project performance or delivery outcomes.
  • Reinforce stakeholder trust and credibility through consistent follow-through and operational rigor, building strong relationships throughout the organization.
