Full Job Description
The Lead Software Engineer standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software, and lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise throughout the software development lifecycle. Oversees testing and debugging and develops fixes. Researches complaints and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software related issues. Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards, design principles, and quality guidelines. Advises leaders to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Candidates must currently reside within a 60-minute commuting distance of, or be willing to relocate to, one of the following metropolitan areas: Louisville, KY; Dallas/Frisco, TX; Tampa/Ft. Lauderdale, FL; or Nashville, TN.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 8 or more years of progressive IT experience as a senior developer in large IT projects
  • 2 or more years of project leadership experience
  • 5 or more years of experience designing, developing, and testing of software applications and/or infrastructure, with a proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects from conception to completion.
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Should have a strong foundation in software development including proficiency in programming and deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development methodologies.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with team members, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Must have strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to analyze complex technical challenges, identify optimal solutions, and troubleshoot issues as they arise throughout the development process
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying updated on emerging technologies, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Experience developing cloud solutions for large scale enterprise
  • Experience with Java Springboot Development with public or private cloud
  • Experience working on Microservice Architecture and cloud design patterns
  • 3-5 years Java, Spring boot, Spring Batch
  • 3-5 years REST API Development
  • NoSQL DB (Preferably Mongo DB)
  • Azure Hands-on experience (or any other public cloud AWS, GCP, PCF)
  • Familiarity with Dev-Ops Processes (CI/CD, Automation)
  • Experience working in a Scrum/Agile setup
  • Experience using AI code-assist tools such as Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar platforms to accelerate software development, testing, documentation, and delivery.
  • Ability to promote responsible AI-assisted engineering practices while ensuring code quality, security, maintainability, and compliance with enterprise standards.

  • Master's Degree
  • Experience with both frontend and backend development
  • Kafka - event driven solution development
  • Kubernetes, Containerization Skills
  • Front End Development (Angular or React js)
  • Azure Certification is strongly preferred.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$129,300 - $177,800 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
