As a Lead Software Engineer - Backend, you'll drive the technical direction, architecture, and execution of scalable, high-performance digital products. Responsibilities - Serve as the technical authority, advising leadership on backend architecture and technology strategy. - Own, manage, and optimize code repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and code governance to ensure high-quality, production-ready deployments. - Design and develop performant features using evolutionary design and iterative development methodologies. - Collaborate with architects, product managers, business stakeholders, security, infrastructure, and external partners to deliver innovative solutions. - Conduct deep-dive investigations into technical challenges related to scale, resiliency, and operational efficiency. - Lead code reviews, mentor senior and software engineers, and foster a culture of technical excellence. - Proactively minimize production outages through collaborative monitoring and incident response. Required Skills and Experience - 10+ years of hands-on web development experience with a focus on high-volume, distributed systems. - Expertise in Python, TypeScript, FastAPI, AWS, and DynamoDB. - Proven experience in event-driven architectures, serverless frameworks, distributed caching, and edge computing. - Strong ecommerce development background with Node.js, GraphQL, and integration with distributed cache systems. - Working knowledge of front-end technologies including ReactJS/Redux, HTML5, CSS3, with an awareness of web pixel implementation. - Advanced DevOps capabilities using Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, telemetry, monitoring, and troubleshooting production systems. - Ability to decompose complex problems into simple, deliverable components. - Demonstrated attention to detail, curiosity, and a collaborative, competitive spirit. Preferred Skills - Experience with leading ecommerce platforms such as BigCommerce, Commerce Tools, or Shopify. - Integration expertise with third-party products and vendors. - Familiarity with multiple cloud providers including AWS, Azure, and GCP. - Awareness of cross-browser compatibility and both client-side and server-side performance optimization.
