Job Description

As a Lead Silicon Software and Hardware Integration Engineer, you will head the engineering activities bridging the gap between custom silicon architectures and upper-level software stacks. You will be responsible for bringing complex SoCs (Systems-on-Chip) and ASICs to life. This high-impact leadership role spans the entire product lifecycle—from pre-silicon planning to physical silicon bring-up, firmware integration, and system-level debugging. You will serve as the primary technical interface connecting hardware designers, silicon architects, and software engineering teams.

Special Mentions

- Relocation provided

- Travel expected up to 20% of the time

- Interviews will include a technical assessment

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Technical Leadership & Planning: Manage HW/SW integration, establish project timelines, and plan resource allocation for silicon programs.
  • Hardware Bring-up: Oversee and lead the initial power-on and initialization of newly manufactured chips in the lab.
  • Integrate HW/FW: Drive the strategy to integrate hardware and firmware directly on the physical silicon for cohesive system behavior.
  • Design & Build Boards: Direct the design and construction of test boards for silicon bring-up and hardware/software integration.
  • Cross-Functional Debug: Partner with architects, hardware designers, and software engineering teams to root-cause complex failures and performance bottlenecks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Lab Experience: Hands-on experience using advanced lab equipment including logic analyzers, spectrum/signal analyzers, network analyzer, and oscilloscope for troubleshooting hardware.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership & Management: Experience managing engineering teams, planning project roadmaps, and mentoring technical staff.
  • Board Design & EDA Tools: Proven experience with schematic capture and PCB layout using industry-standard tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro).
  • Lab equipment automation
  • Hardware Analysis: Deep understanding of signal integrity, power delivery network (PDN) design, and high-speed PCB design constraints.
  • System Environments: Familiarity with Linux kernel drivers, embedded real-time operating systems (RTOS), and virtualization/container environments
