Job Description Summary
Support of customer in-vessel repair installation and problem resolution. This includes development of repair concepts and tooling, engagement in procedure and process development and improvement, ownership of critical tooling processes and technologies to ensure current and future project success, engagement in the tooling qualification process, and field execution role as tooling and process expertise. There is moderate autonomy within the role. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.

This is remote role based in Wilmington, North Carolina that will require periodic site work at the Wilmington site. Travel to customer sites is required.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Engagement in the projects that the product line has in proposal and contract phases to provide critical input to concept development and identify project risks. Support resolution of issues and risks to ensure project success.
  • Own critical product line tooling processes and support maintaining and improving tooling technology. This role will be the critical field experience input into tooling engineering design process to ensure a high quality tool design is achieved.
  • Perform field project delivery shift and tooling engineer positions. Perform lead shift engineer role to lead a full day or night shift team to high quality project execution. Support field project team success by providing tooling function expertise and trouble shooting.
  • Requires specialized knowledge within the function and reactor modification or tooling experience.
  • Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor Science degree from an accredited university with a minimum of four (4) years of nuclear field services industry with relevant tooling application/use OR six (6) years relevant experience in a technical field/industry.

OR
  • 5 years of experience in nuclear field services industry with relevant tooling application/use.


ELIGIBILITY Requirements:
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% domestically and internationally as dictated by business need to GE Vernova, Vendor and customer locations
  • The preferred work locations is the Wilmington, NC Headquarters but highly qualified remote candidates will be considered.
  • Ability to obtain unescorted access to Nuclear Plants including required access to U.S. export-controlled information.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to climb and descend 10 flights of stairs twice per day
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to pass respirator fit test and physical
  • Ability to pass Fitness For Duty requirements
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with the ability to create, analyze, and present data and documents effectively.


Desired Characteristics
  • Demonstrated experience in the nuclear industry, with a solid understanding of nuclear project requirements including Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) vessel internal hardware knowledge / experience, design process, balanced with understanding of complexities of field delivery
  • Proven track record in working on complex projects with a focus on reactor modifications and/or refuel floor work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in complex situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.


This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $91,400.00 and $152,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
