The Role

Working under the Sr Security Manager(s) within Federal contracts, the Lead Security Professional will support and provide oversight to complex government programs with responsibility for DOD FSO management and oversight meeting NISPOM requirements as lead FSO for Herndon offices. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with government security requirements, protecting classified information, and providing leadership across multiple security disciplines in support of DoD and SCI programs.

The Main Responsibilities

• Diligently oversee multiple DOD contracts throughout the full contract lifecycle.
• Provide oversight in the areas of Physical Security, Personnel Security, Facility Security, and OPSEC for both DoD and SCI programs to ensure the protection of classified information.
• Oversee investigations of security infractions or violations and report findings to the Director of Industrial Security and the customer.
• Ensure follow through on corrective actions and program improvements to prevent future incidents or violations.
• Work closely with the Director of Industrial Security to ensure security policies and procedures are documented and all briefed employees are properly trained on program classification policies.
• Ensure the interpretation and application of government program classification guides and provide education as needed to supported government programs.
• Administer, direct, and review security operations programs to ensure a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, customers, and others.
• Advise management on improving and implementing policies in accordance with security requirements and institutional, state, and federal regulations.
• Develop methods to improve security policies, processes, and practices, and recommend changes to management.
• Direct the preparation and distribution of written and verbal communications regarding security policies, procedures, and practices.
• Manage the design and development of specialized training to guide security personnel and others through security-related decisions and actions.
• Represent the organization in formal meetings with outside organizations on matters related to security and protective services.

Knowledge:

• DCSA compliance and NISPOM oversight and management are essential, along with knowledge across multiple security disciplines.

Minimum Qualifications:

• This is a lead security position supporting the DCSA DOD FSO role.
• Minimum of five (5) or more years in a senior security role supporting classified programs from collateral through SCI levels.
• In-depth knowledge of resource materials describing policies and procedures for the protection of classified information, with the ability to apply those policies to develop and maintain a strong security program using NISPOM, ICDs, and contract-specific guidance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent applicable years of experience.
• At least six (6) years of successful law enforcement experience conducting violent crime and/or property crime investigations; experience managing investigative programs and/or Industrial Security preferred.
• Current TS/SSBI clearance.
• CI Polygraph preferred.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$116,364 - $155,152 in these states: VA
