About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Securities Operations Specialist to support strategic transformation efforts across the Settlements and Account Transfers organizations within Wealth and Investment Management Operations.

This role will drive enterprise execution, governance, risk integration, and cross-functional coordination while partnering with senior Operations and Front Office leaders to modernize processes, strengthen controls, and deliver measurable business outcomes. In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex lifecycle initiatives and transformation efforts across the Settlements and Account Transfers organizations, including initiatives that are cross-functional with broad impact, while identifying opportunities for process improvements, automation, operational efficiency, and modernization

  • Lead large-scale planning, governance, and execution activities by monitoring transformation progress, maintaining executive reporting and scorecards, tracking risks, dependencies, decisions, outcomes, and benefits realization across multiple workstreams

  • Review and analyze complex, multi-faceted, larger-scale operational challenges that require in-depth evaluation of operational, regulatory, financial, risk, and strategic considerations to support business objectives and transformation goals

  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations while leveraging a solid understanding of operational functions, policies, procedures, controls, and compliance requirements to drive execution, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and senior leaders across Operations, Front Office, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Human Resources to resolve issues, achieve goals, coordinate execution, and advance transformational priorities

  • Partner with Front Office leadership to identify operational investment opportunities, develop business cases for modernization initiatives, and align operational improvements to growth, risk reduction, capacity creation, resiliency, and client outcomes

  • Lead implementation of projects, organizational changes, governance enhancements, workforce modernization efforts, risk mitigation initiatives, and new or revised processes and procedures that require coordination across multiple operational teams

  • Research complex business risks, develop governance frameworks, strengthen controls, improve accountability, enhance customer outcomes, and support the integration of risk and control considerations into transformation efforts

  • Resolve complex escalated issues within the scope of Securities Operations while exercising independent judgment to influence workflow controls, minimize operational breakdowns, and improve overall process effectiveness

  • Lead overall effectiveness of transformation initiatives according to established plans; monitor progress against strategic objectives and provide executive-level reporting and recommendations to senior leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Securities Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following:  work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience leading large-scale transformation, operational modernization, or business process improvement initiatives

  • Strong knowledge of securities settlement, account transfers, and post-trade operations within a financial services environment

  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing governance frameworks, executive scorecards, reporting, and performance metrics

  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving Operations, Front Office, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Finance partners

  • Proven expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risk through control optimization, automation, and process redesign

  • Demonstrated experience supporting regulatory, resiliency, risk, or control-related initiatives within a highly regulated environment

  • Proven expertise developing business cases, investment proposals, and benefits realization plans supporting operational transformation efforts

  • Strong Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, or Operational Excellence practices

  • Experience with Alteryx, Xceptor, or other technology solutions used to drive process transformation, automation, and operational efficiency

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, including executive-level reporting and data analysis
